It helps if you have savings built up that you can utilize while you get your business of the ground. Consider taking an entrepreneur course at your local college or community center. Often your town will have a special department setup to help small businesses get started.
Formulate a business plan and stick to it. The excitement of starting your own business and not having a boss breathing down your next can be enough motivation to see it through until you become successful.
